Stemgent® Rat anti-Mouse OC2-6E10 Antibody
The Stemgent® Rat anti-Mouse OC2-6E10 Antibody is a novel monoclonal antibody that reacts with a cell surface molecule on liver periductal cells. The OC2-6E10 clone was generated by immunization with nonparenchymal cells from 3,5-diethoxy-carbonyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC)-treated mice in order to increase representation of rare cell types such as oval cells. Oval cells are thought to be bipotential progenitors capable of yielding both hepatocytes and bile ducts. The OC2-6E10 antibody has been confirmed to stain periductal cells on mouse liver sections by immunohistochemistry and to stain viable dissociated liver cells by flow cytometry. This antibody has been identified as a useful tool for tracing the development of specific liver cell progenitors in the study of mouse models of hepatic cell development1.
